Back in September, Apple updated its Apple Watch series. They launched two new smartwatches. Apple Watch SE and Apple watch 6. The Watch SE is the budget-friendly smartwatch while Watch 6 is the more premium and the latest generation smartwatch with all the cool new features. The Watch 6 comes with apple’s latest S6 processor, which is based on A13 bionic.
So the smartwatch which was already very fast is now even faster with its new chip. The design more or less remains the same as of last year’s Apple Watch 5. This time Apple has launched their Watches in a bunch of new colours, including the product red colour for smartwatches. The case is built of aluminium and comes in two sizes – 44mm and 40mm.
Watch 6 has improved on charging speeds and can be set from zero to 100 per cent in about 2 hours. The Watch 6 comes with the latest Watch OS 7 that includes sleep tracking as well. As far as battery backup is concerned, it is still great and there’s no downgrade or upgrade in that department. Which means you can expect the battery to last for somewhere around 36-40 hours in a single charge.
Apple claims that the brightness of the series 6 has been bumped up and is now even brighter and crispier. Hence, using the Always-on display is brighter than series 5. Not only that, but Apple has also added an always-on altitude meter. One of the highlighting features from Apple in the keynote was the addition to the blood oxygen meter(SpO2). However, it isn’t that reliable and sometimes can malfunction. Since it is not even FDA approved, something which the ECG measuring is supported.
These minor upgrades is what has been added to the Apple Watch 6. Nothing significant change so if you have a watch 5 or 4 you may not need to upgrade to the latest watch 6. Since most of the things remain unchanged, besides that, Watch 6 starts at $399, which isn’t cost-efficient by any means. There’s watch SE as well, which only lacks Always-on display and ECG and it starts at $279. Undoubtedly, Apple Watch remains the best smartwatch to buy in the market as of now with its smoother animations and fast UI it is the best-recommended smartwatch.
The latest Watch OS 7 brings some new features on your wrist as well. With the new Watch OS 7 now you can give your young ones an Apple Watch without giving them an iPhone. Yes, you can pair multiple watches to a single iPhone. You can also check on them every activity they will do. The new sleep tracking works as expected and has good accuracy. All of this can be done with the help of new Family setup.
The Apple watch still doesn’t support any Android phones, nor does it gets the support of any third-party watch faces. However, now you can add Memoji as your watch face. They have also added a bunch of cool new watch faces to try on along with some new complications.
