Apple iPhone 12 – Everything we know so far

After the launch of iPhone SE 2020, Apple is planning for a new flagship, iPhone 12. This 5G phone from Apple will relatively cost less than its previous iPhone lineups. With the support of 5G, this device will be priced marginally lower than the other 5G phones in the market, especially the Galaxy S20 series from Samsung.

Jon Prosser, an Apple analyst, says that the entry-level iPhone 12 will be priced at $649. He further added that iPhone 12 will have an OLED display, 5G connectivity, and two rear camera. The Apple iPhone 12 which will be launching in September of 2020.

iPhone 12 – What to expect?

As like every year, this year also Apple could be including some new features in their upcoming iPhone. Also, we have some news coming on, that this time Apple may come with 4 smartphones instead of 3. However, the names of the smartphone haven’t yet confirmed officially. But, we got a report suggesting that the phones will be named as:

  • iPhone 12
  • iPhone 12 Plus
  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max

iPhone 12 – Specifications and features

All the four variants are said to come with almost similar features but there could be some changes in terms of camera and display.

Here are the expected specification and features for the upcoming iPhone 12.


In terms of display, all smartphones from the iPhone 12 series will come with different display sizes. The smaller variant, iPhone 12 is said to come with 5.4-inches OLED Display with the support of 120Hz or 90 Hz refresh rate as well.

The next variant, iPhone 12 Plus is said to come with 6.1-inches OLED Display with the support of 120Hz refresh. The next variant, iPhone 12 Pro is said to come with the 6.1-inches OLED display with the support of 120Hz refresh rate and an extra Lidar Scanner on the camera department.

At last, the top-end variant, iPhone 12 Pro Max is said to come with the huge 6.7-inches OLED display with the support of 120Hz refresh rate as well.

There won’t be much different in terms of the camera department for all iPhone 12 lineups. We will see iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max to come with the same camera sensors from the previous iPhone 11 Pro Max phone.

The regular iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Plus will come with a dual-camera configuration as like the previous regular iPhone 11 smartphone.

Here the change is that we will get to see an additional LIDAR scanner (Light Detection And Ranging) which was also implemented on the 2020 iPad and the iPad pro.

On the front, we will get to see the same front selfie camera from iPhone 11 series. However, this time iPhone 12 may come with a smaller notch.

All smartphones in iPhone 12 lineups are said to get powered with the latest Apple Bionic A14 chipset which will also support 5G connectivity onboard.

Apple has said that the new Apple Bionic A14 chipset will be equally powerful to the most popular Apple Macbook lineups.

RAM and Storage

This time Apple iPhone 12 is said to upgrade its internal storage and RAM. We may see a 6GB of the latest LPDDR5 RAM with up to 512GB of UFS 3.0 Storage.


In terms of prices, we are getting some awesome news that the prices for the upcoming iPhone 12 would get a price cut over its previous iPhone series.
